Hello everyone,

here is my LinusTechTips themed retro rig, that I'm working on right now.

for now it's an pentium mmx 266mhz with 32mb sdram, 10gb hdd and matrox graphics. I'm planning an upgrade to k6-2 450mhz with 128mb ram and 40gb hdd, plus voodoo 1 3D card.

I also want to add rgb lights and side panel window with LinusTechTips logo on it.

That spoiled Youtuber who RGB'd his server room doesn't even know what building a retro machine actually means. His definition was using a Dell PIII system and installing Windows on it and some games.

These are 2 I am referencing all with his pretty painted finger nails as well. I don't really mind the guy but some of the things he comes up with seem...

He has some good ideas though for his server room. But when you RGB a server room that has no window and you keep the door closed due to the noise... well that's just dumb lol

Yeah.... He shure has no love for old hardware. To me he is just yet another one of those retro hipsters. Uhmmm. Did he say that there were 3 competing companies? I think he forgot to mention Matrox, Cirus Logic (laguna), Intel, VideoLogic/imation/NEC (PowerVR) and possibly even more players on the early 3D scene. Dude does not know his history, he is bragging to know all about. And I quite get, were he is going with that RGB color thing. It's just not my thing at all, as I am from a different time. (get off my lawn Linus, I am drinking limonade here) Ahhh... He is a kid/teen of the 00's when computers were butt ugly. All that cringy neon colors, lights, and las vegas cramped into a single machine. And not to speak of chinese manufactors, shameless ripping off Apples semi transparent bright colored plastic on everything from low budget pc's to salad bowls. Shure we all kind of liked that thing Apple had going, at that particulair time period. It's just only good to look at, the first month. Then at least I, got sick of all that semi transparent plastic.

Man... I want my hardcore muscle cars, then he can have his little 1.0 litre straight 4 from china, with lots of bright pink colors. As long as I get my black V8 without the luxury package (one single fm radio that is).
