| I do not do much X-Mas decoration. But Jul it has to be, so I have a few old style elf's (or 'Nisser' to be specific)
Nisser comes from the old entity, that are living in the barn. Originally named Niels, then nis and finally Nissen.
If you did not feed it with porridge, the entity would make the milk sour and even kill the live stock.
So you better give nissen a bowl of porridge, or you would be without the means of being alive.
They are close related to santa, but are not santa's helpers. If you treat them well, they will provide children with
one gift a day, in the stockings that children have put up. Mostly just a tiny piece of candy or some fun toy.
Most people think they have red clothes, but I like the old version with grey clothes.
Nissen is totally metal. When it is angry, it goes totally berserker. Striking cows down and burning down the yeard.
They are magical. Please treat it with kindness.....

Location: Hull, UK | Oh, I think I heard about those once, a long time ago. The gray is definitely better, gives the impression of some tatty creature that would crawl out from some dusty corner. |

Back in the days (+100 years ago) these creatures were usually grey or green. ;-) |
