Quick question. What's the major difference between the II+ and III+ variants of the K6? They both seem to sport onboard cache and clock for clock they seem damn near identical. Was the III+ mostly for die shrinkage purposes?

To my knowledge they are identical except the K6-III+ (256kb) has double the L2 cache of the K6-2+ (128kb). They're both made on the same 180nm process.
Afaik there are also no low voltage variants of the K6-2+.

Could it be you're trying to ask what the difference between the K6-III and K6-III+ was?
In that case: The K6-III+ is a die shrink plus addition of extended 3DNow and PowerNow! instructions.

Somehow I missed this thread, but without checking this definitely sounds correct.

The K6-2+ does seem to run at lower voltages than the average K6-2 however, not super low, but low enough that some boards don't support them. As cool as they are a Coppermine system, or maybe even a Duron if you can find a good PSU, is probably a more practical approach if you just want a working system without much hassle.
