so pc chips m547 or gateway motherboard with a LT430TX chipset ? both socket 7 motherboards whats a better performer?

Supposedly the PCChips board is quite good. But if you've actually got a TX (and not a VX) you'll still have the advantages of UDMA and such but only a 66MHz bus. I'd say the 430TX if you want to use a Pentium or the VPX if you want to use a Cyrix or something.

On an equal footing they trade places with few differences depending on what's going on, likely hard to perceive in the real world. Different boards, but most likely similar results, see; http://www.ixbt.com/mainboard/txvsvpx.html
