TM Crusoe Posts: 618 Location: Hull, UK | By the BIOS version I'm guessing Intel made that board, probably a Premiere PCI or similar. The headers use a different pinout - http://pinoutguide.com/Motherboard/rs232_header_pinout.shtml Total pain in the ass really. Anyways, welcome to the board. Edited by DXZeff 2017-09-05 9:06 PM

Fujitsu 186 Posts: 8 | Hi, Again I tried a few different serial connectors and found the right ones, Thanks !!!! sometimes with Logitech Mouse it stop working after a while but at least i Know the mouse is alive. Now I added one adaptec 1522A (With Floppy connector but disabled) with 2x Maxtor 7345SCSI 300MB working well no bad sectors. And open for the first time this GIANT box with Sound Blaster Digital Edge 3x, the sound card also have a adaptec 1520 *I guess, brings a SCSI cable for the NEC 3x Caddy cdrom drive. When i run ezscsi for DOS it warnings about A "TimerCriticalSection"entry has been detected in the System.ini file. ASPI for Windows may not function properly in this case...Press Enter to Continue. I continue and then it asks for mscdex that is provided in the diskette and everything is installed fine. But i can't read from cdrom in DOS OR WINDOWS e: Fail Int 24 In /File manager There is no Disk Trying to read with Sound blaster CD from same KIT and a few others. So if you could help me to see where is the problem i would apreciate it. IDT WinChip Posts: 237 Location: USA | Hast thou lookethed at the Adaptec site for information? I am a little fuzzy on which card you are trying to use the cdrom with, but if it is with the adaptec card, this might help - https://adaptec.com/en-us/support/_eol/scsi_host_isa/aha-1522a/insta... Can't say I have a whole lot of experience with the old ISA/VLB/EISA scsi cards except to say I installed the correct driver, and they usually work as long as ID's are set right and things are terminated, but I have not tried using 2 scsi cards together. I would imagine there are some conflicts there if not jumped properly for ports, irq, things like that. Not sure about the timing error though, never seen that one before. Could have something to do with spin up times for the drives... can't really think at this time what else would be causing a timing problem unless as mentioned before, there is a conflict between the 2 cards. There is usually a jumper on scsi drives to tell them to spin up right away with power on instead of waiting for the controller to spin them up. Here is a post I came across mentioning the timing thing. People seem to have suggested there is an issue with the ASPI driver adaptec provided back then and systems with more than 16MB. - https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/comp.periphs.scsi/7Xrp_pQCaH... Fujitsu 186 Posts: 8 | Good morning ! Well, thank you once more for the help! I have read the posts you mentioned. The cdrom is connected alone with Sound Blaster Card , anyway I have changed the brand new SCSI Nec 3x (Cady tray ) with a SCSI Toshiba Model XM-5201B and it read the Blaster CD right away. So I am installing the sound Blaster 16 Software.... I will make a few more experiences with the Nec cdrom, I will open the other cady and try ...maybe open the cdrom itself and see what is going on. Thanks

TM Crusoe Posts: 618 Location: Hull, UK | Windows 3.11 has a nasty habit of not copying the MCICDA file from the floppies. You can probably manually "EXPAND" it to the SYSTEM directory if needed. Glad to know you got it working.

Fujitsu 186 Posts: 8 | I think I got It!!! Readme.txt have this header and tree of directories....I will try and let you dudes Know Thank You Stealth64 Video 2001 README.TXT ======================================================================= Release Notes ------------- This is v2.20 of the Stealth64 Video 2001 Windows v3.1 Driver disk. Windows Installation Notes -------------------------- Use the INSTALL program IN \WIN31\MVP1100\220 to install the Windows 3.1

TM Crusoe Posts: 618 Location: Hull, UK | There are two versions of the driver, one of them supports the MVP1100, one does not. If it doesn't work out, try these - http://vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=504&menustate=1,0 Don't need to burn them to CD's, just check the readme's or use Diamond's installer which should give you the option. If your installer already gave you the option for hardware MPEG then it should work anyway, don't check the software MPEG player option, that doesn't use the MVP1100, only Windows Media Player really uses it and, of course, the Diamond InControl thing. It does seem you probably have the right one already though. Your system seems like a kind of half-way between my old P60 and current P66.
